Profile Summary

How to write a 2–3 sentence summary that sets the tone

Keep it under 60 words

Your summary should tell a reader who you are, what you're studying or have studied, and what kind of opportunity you're looking for. Nothing more.

Lead with what's most relevant

If you're applying to a marketing role, mention your interest in consumer behaviour first, not that you're a 3rd-year student.

Avoid generic phrases

"Hardworking and enthusiastic team player" means nothing. Replace it with something specific: "Final-year computer science student with experience building web apps and a strong interest in product."

Tailor it for each application

This doesn't require a full rewrite. One or two word changes to reflect the company's language can significantly improve relevance.
