Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 April 2025This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We've written it in plain English. If anything is unclear, email us.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, and profile details. For students, this includes skills, education, and work preferences. For companies, this includes your organisation name and billing information.

We also collect usage data automatically: pages visited, features used, search queries, and device/browser information. This is used solely to improve the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate and improve Internverse. Specifically:

- To match students with relevant internship listings - To allow companies to review applications - To send you notifications relevant to your activity (which you can opt out of) - To diagnose bugs and improve platform performance - To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your data to third parties. Ever.

3. Data Sharing

When a student applies for a listing, their profile is shared with the company that posted it. This is the core function of the platform.

We share data with a small number of trusted service providers (hosting, email, analytics) strictly for the purpose of running the platform. All providers are contractually bound to handle your data in accordance with applicable law.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.

Aggregated, anonymised usage data (which cannot be linked back to any individual) may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can do this through your account settings or by contacting us at hello@internverse.io.

You also have the right to export your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. If you have concerns about how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

6. Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how you use the platform. We do not use advertising cookies or sell cookie data.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect platform functionality.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is completely secure, but we take this seriously.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll notify you via email or a notice on the platform. Your continued use of Internverse after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
